vSphere Courses
Global Knowledge UK offer a number of instructor-led training courses around key VMware products, including vSphere 4. The vSphere curriculum is comprised of beginner, mid-level, and higher-level courses, and Global Knowledge also offer their own exclusive preparation workshop for the VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification exam.
vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage (4-days) - VSICM
This is the “standard” vSphere course for those who want to “get to grips” with the key benefits of running virtualized applications, and learn how to deploy vSphere and enable the core features that allow an organization to begin to take advantage of such benefits.
vSphere: Fast Track - 5 days (extended hours) - VSFT
This course is not for the faint-hearted! It incorporates all the VSICM material, plus the VSMA and VSMS content into a single extended-hours course, and is the ideal course for someone who wants to learn as much about the core elements of vSphere 4 as they can in one week!
vSphere: What's New - 2 days - VMWN
Are there others in your organization who have experience with the previous generation product, VMware Infrastructure 3 (VI3)? They will gain value from this course if they need to know about the key new features in vSphere 4, or if they are responsible for planning or performing a migration or upgrade to vSphere 4 from VI3.
vSphere: Manage for Performance - 3 days - VSMP
If you want to know how to maximise performance in a vSphere environment, this is the course for you! We go “under the bonnet” and discuss all the elements that can affect performance, you’ll learn all the key resource metrics, and how to optimise host and guest configurations and the underlying infrastructure to get your virtualized applications running at maximum warp!
vSphere: Troubleshooting - 4 days - VST
Are you up to the challenge of problem-solving a huge variety of system and configuration issues on a broken vSphere system? Once you’ve learned about the key troubleshooting resources and techniques, your instructor will introduce fault after fault on your lab systems - and it’s down to you to fix them!
vSphere: VCP4 Exam Preparation Workshop - 1 day - VSEXP
If you’re taking the VCP4 exam for vSphere, this workshop will maximise your chances of getting that great score you want! Our workshop is unique in the UK, written by an exam veteran who knows all the “tricks of the trade” with certification exams. We focus on improving your exam technique and the key study areas for VCP4, all designed to help you do yourself justice on the big day!
vSphere: Manage Scalability - 1 day - VSMS
As your vSphere deployment grows you’ll benefit from learning about some of the many scalability features in vSphere that we just don’t get time to cover in VSICM. This course collects together the key aspects of vSphere that can help as your number of hosts and virtualized applications inevitably grows!
vSphere: Manage Availability - 1 day - VSMA
Virtualization offers some unique ways to keep applications highly-available, this course goes beyond VSICM in comparing high availability mechanisms for virtualized applications and other aspects of a vSphere deployment, with specific content on various VMware solutions.
vSphere: Skills for Operators - 2 days - VSSO
Those who work in IT Operations/Support and are responsible for deploying and maintaining virtual machines in a vSphere 4 environment will benefit from attending this course, incorporating some of the materials and labs from the VSICM course.
vSphere: Design Workshop - 3 days - VSD
Those who work in a pre or post-sales role, or are otherwise involved in designing/architecting deployments of vSphere are the perfect target audience for this workshop. We cover all the elements that comprise a successful vSphere 4 design, and a case study allows you to apply the skills and knowledge gained.
vSphere: Overview - 1 day - VSO
The target audience is primarily the key decision maker in an organization such as an IT Manager, or IT Director, where they wish to gain an appreciation of what virtualization technology can bring to their organization, with focus on the key elements of vSphere.
