Scott Vessey
I am one of the most well-known VMware Certified Instructors, having obtained my VCI status in 2006. I currently work as the Lead Instructor - VMware for Global Knowledge in the UK, and previously I ran the virtualization training team at another UK-based VMware Authorized Training Centre (VATC).
My first VCP and my first ever VMware course delivery, were on ESX 2.5 and VirtualCenter 1.3, and I've seen the products and technology grow and change enormously since then. I started delivery of courses on VMware Infrastructure 3 as soon as they became available, and I've done the same in 2009 with vSphere 4. I also hold the VCP2, VCP3 and VCP4 certifications, I began making progress through the VCDX3 certification, and will be attempting to gain the new VCAP4 certifications when they become available.
Back at the start of 2009, I launched my VMware Training and Certification blog, and since then have started my own VMware-related pages on Facebook, and also joined the world of Twitter too. I am the major contributor to the official Training & Certification VMware community forum. Refer to the Links page to see my various profiles.
I hold Mentor status as a VCI, which means I am trusted by VMware to decide whether others are up to the standard required to deliver official courses, only a limited number of VCIs hold this status. I am also an inaugural member of the VATC Technical Advisory Council, I am asked by VMware to help develop and review the official courseware.
I have also been designated as a VMware vExpert 2010 for my contribution to the VMware community.
Outside of work, I am a dedicated family man - I have two amazing boys that keep me busy!
I've spent 4 years talking to customers who are so used to "thinking physically" that they cannot truly see the benefits that virtualization brings to them and their organizations - so I say to you all - Think Virtually!
