VMware Certified Professional on VMware Infrastructure 3 - Overview
The VCP on VI3 has been recognised as an "industry standard" certification on virtualization since it was first launched by VMware back in August 2006. More than 20,000 individuals hold this certification already, and the number increases all the time.
VMware had announced that the VCP3 exam would no longer be available to take after December 31st 2009, but the exam availability has now been extended until March 31st 2010.
It has always been the case that attendance on an official VI3 training course is required, the only exception to this is for those that hold the VCP2 certification. Unless you hold the VCP2, you will need to attend one of the following training courses:
Since the launch of vSphere back in May 2009, demand for training on VI3 has diminished, there are now fewer and fewer dates and locations available for the above courses.
VMware have a number of VCP3 resources available on their Certification page.
I have a number of VCP3 articles, study guides and exam resources on my blog.
